Vacation spot in Florida for college aged girls?

My best friend and I (both 23 yrs old) are planning a vacation in April to go to Florida. I am not too familiar with Florida, other than Orlando. We are looking for a nice beach (even though it may be a bit cold), nightlife (does not need to be super crazy, just enough to have a good time), and I suppose close to an airport as well as the local community (as we do not want to rent a car, and would like to walk to most things, and just need a quick taxi trip to the airport). We wanted to go to Daytona, but no good flights, we were thinking Miami, West Palm Beach, Neptune Beach..? Can anyone give me any tips?! thanks!!
